London Healthy Waterways Boat Dweller Survey 2025

Questions marked with a * are required
RRR Consultancy Ltd is conducting research to understand how air pollution, fuel use, and energy options impact boat dwellers across London. This study aims to gather insights into boaters’ awareness of air pollution and its health effects, access to energy sources, barriers to switching from solid fuels, and attitudes towards sustainability and climate emergency. The findings will help inform local authorities, waterways organisations, and policymakers to improve support for boat dwellers.

In addition to gathering insights, this project aims to work collaboratively with boaters to explore practical ways of reducing pollution, improving health within the boating community, and lowering both CO₂ emissions and exposure to air pollution. By understanding the challenges boaters face, we aim to identify practical ways to support cleaner energy choices and promote healthier living conditions on London’s waterways.

Additionally, the study will contribute to developing a strategy for strengthening partnerships between boaters, local authorities, and key stakeholders, ensuring an ongoing dialogue that fosters cooperation and practical solutions for sustainable boating.

We invite all London boat dwellers, including continuous cruisers and those on permanent moorings, to take part by completing a short online survey or engaging in face-to-face interviews at key mooring locations. Participation is confidential, and the results will ensure that boaters’ needs and experiences are represented in future decision-making. Have your say and help shape a healthier, more sustainable future on London’s waterways by complete the survey by the Friday, 1 August 2025.

If you have any queries about the survey, please contact RRR Consultancy at:
